In this quiet and painful moment we find great, unspeakable comfort
from the Peace of God. The golden chapter of John 14 ministers to my
grieving heart.John 14:1-4 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust
also in me. 2) In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so,
I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3)
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you
to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4) You know the way to
the place where I am going.”
These words are given by an omniscient God to His precious followers.
He is preparing them for their hour of grief. He is comforting them
before they ever knew they needed to be comforted. His grace not only
surrounds, it precedes and it will surely follow. Like the Lord's
sheep dogs named, "Goodness" and "Mercy."
John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give
to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do
not be afraid."
My bride and our mother is in the place that her God made with His own
hands. It was sudden and traumatic but her passing from death unto
life is as real in its joy as my grief is in it's pain.
We have the unexplainable peace of God. We know the power of the
resurrection in this moment. Please pray that we will bear up under by
the mighty power of God and not human will or strength. I pray that we
will bear witness of the resurrection on behalf of our dear loving
wife and mother. God grant us the power of your comforting Holy Spirit
to bear up and give a mighty word of testimony to the reality of and
enduring power that comes from the resurrection of Jesus Christ our
Lord.
Lord, Help us in this hour to live what we believe. Help us to bring
nothing but glory to you and praise to this Proverbs 31 woman. Give us
wisdom in every decision. Give me grace for every trial.
John 14:29 "I have told you now before it happens, so that when it
does happen you will believe."
